Capital Credits Retired

Did you know electric cooperatives have retired $18 billion to members since 1988?  In just 2019 alone, it was $1.3 billion.  The board of directions at Graham County Electric Cooperative recently approved retiring over $400,000 to members in August 2021.  This amount represents 1974 retirement allocations and a pro-rated portion of the 2020 allocations members.  Because electric cooperatives operate at cost, any excess revenues (called margins) are allocated and retired to members in the form of capital credits. If you have any questions about your capital credit retirement or allocations, contact the GCEC office at (928) 485-2451 during normal business hours.
