Capital Credits Retired

Have you received your Capital Credit funds? Did you know electric cooperatives all over the United Stated have retired $18 billion to members since 1988?   The board of directions at Graham County Electric Cooperative recently approved retiring over $450,000 to members in July 2022.  Because electric cooperatives operate at cost, any excess revenues (called margins) are allocated and retired to members in the form of capital credits.  If you were a member in 1975, 1976 or 2021 and currently have an active account, you should have received a credit on your October electric bill.  An inactive member had a check mailed to them at their last know address.  If you have any questions about your capital credit retirement or allocations, contact the GCEC office at (928) 485-2451 during normal business hours.
